Training Tasmania

The Client

General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) provides innovative, best practice training to the highest national standards to develop outstanding GPs. They are the Regional Training Organisation (RTO) in Tasmania for Australian General Practice training. GPTT adheres to the training standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). Known for its high quality, well-organised program – GPTT provides unique educational experiences throughout the beautiful state of Tasmania.

The Challenge

In early 2018, GPTT asked JAM Web Services to make their G.Prime 2 instance responsive so it can easily accessible to users who are using mobile devices such as an iPad. When G.Prime 2 was built the responsive layout was not common and the application was intended for desktop computers, mainly for administration purposes. Within a few years the requirements grew and users started using more modules and features in the G.Prime 2 application.

The Solution

G.Prime 2 application is an enterprise application having more than 300 pages in the system. Changing the layout of the system was a challenge and a major overhaul. We had to test each functionality to make sure the new layout would not interfere or affect the current program. We have defined the user experience guidelines by our UI/UX expert according to the GPTT’s branding and colours. We started implementing based on the guidelines and testing it stage wise. Within 3 months we launched a new layout of the G.Prime 2 for GPTT successfully.

The Outcome

Every user is now able use the system on any mobile device with any screen size on desktop, laptop, iPad and other various mobile devices. End-users are happy that they are able to see and submit forms and requirements from their iPad and mobile now.
  • JAM Web Services has been a key partner in providing General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) with a robust, GP Registrar training management system based on their product G.Prime 2. This has contributed to improved business processes, increased levels of efficiency, automation and integration to key GPTT systems. G.Prime 2 assists GPTT in reporting requirements for the Department of Health and provides a portal for GP Registrars, their Supervisors and Medical Educators to manage and review training requirements and progress through the AGPT program. With the recent release of a UX/UI overhaul, fitting the GPTT style guide, G.Prime 2 is now a responsive web app suitable for mobile and tablet use which we have observed as becoming the most common interaction method.
